In the year 1984, for the legitimate rights of the farmers, project leaders led by late D B Patil had raised the agitated protests by project affected people at Jasai in Uran taluka. In this glorious and brave fight, on January 16, 1984, naamdev shankar gharat from chirle, Raghunath Arjun Thakur of Dhootum was Martyr. Every year, the martyrs are greeted on this day. The 35th year of this glorious and brave battle was celebrated at Jassai on behalf of Mahatma Phule samajik prabodhan and Parivartan pratishthan.
