The “Biodiversity Management Committee” of Panvel Municipal Corporation has been set up for the purpose of conserving the rare, herbal plants and biodiversity with in the Panvel Municipal Corporation area. The committee will also be tasked with getting to know the local medicinal plants, preserving them, patenting rare and essential plants and providing financial benefits to the locals.
The meeting was attended by Mayor, Corporation, Corporation Officer, environmentalists, from Panvel city and Raigad district, Agril. Officers, Fishermans, Microbiologists, Ornithologists.
Discussed about the Committee and the measures that can be taken to conserve the bio diversity.
