BJP has undertaken an agitation as CIDCO administration failed to fulfill the consistent demand to fill the potholes and containerization of the road of new Panvel flyover and also failed to give written assurance to keep this flyover pothole free. The flyover connection New Panvel to Highway is main road of communication to residents of several villages and wadis and Nere of Panvel taluka and Matheran. CIDCO administration has completely ignored the bad condition of the bridge caused due to heavy rain. Thousands of school going students, working men & women, senior citizens, small and large businessmen and vegetable vendors in this area have been left stranded due to the disturbance. Due to potholes many people are injured in accidents every day and some have got permanent disability. Considering the traffic on this flyover, CIDCO is ignoring the need for cement concreting on both sides of the bridge road. After complaining about this, CIDCO filling potholes with paver block during the rainy season,but complaint remains the same. “Rasta Roko” agitation was held on this flyover with the participation of hundreds of citizens to express their dissatisfaction against  CIDCOs  irresponsible, chaotic and unplanned management. At the end of this protest, CIDCO also warned that if immediate steps are not taken by CIDCO to fill the potholes on the new Panvel flyover and cement concreting of the road, CIDCO should be ready for a bigger protest in the future.
