The torch rally organized on 9 the August is next step of the Naming agitation held on 10th and 24 th June. The torches that are being ignited for, will start from village Jasai, Tal. Uran, the birthplace of late D.B.Patil and paying tribute to the martyrs and to late D.B.Patil. A big torch will be ignited there on the 9th August.
Instead of understanding the struggle and sacrifice made by Loknete D.B.Patil and to preserve the existence and identity of Bhumiputras for the Navi Mumbai township and instead of considering the demand that Late D.B.Patil’s name should be given to Navi Mumbai International Airport, the Maharashtra government has taken the role of suppressing the voice of the project victims. To protest against this repression of the government, a torch rally is being organised starting from Loknete D.B. Patil’s birthplace to every village of Thane, Raigad district and Navi Mumbai.
