Nearly 500 fishing machine boats from Karanja Uran area are transporting daily for catching as well as related works between Karanja and Mumbai through sea. At this time the patrolling boats of Mandava police station intercept them and demand fish and money from the fisherman under the pretext of checking the documents.A delegation of fisherman met and requested to instruct the police officers and other staff of Mandala sea police station not to unnecessarily harras the people. MLA Shri Mahesh Badli along with Sagar Nakhawa,Bhanudas Nakhawa,Deepak Nakhawa,Narayan Nakhawa, Shri Vishwas Nakhawa Chairman Rewas Macchimar Society, met Shri Ashok Dudhe S.P.Raigad Police requesting him to issue instructions to police personnel not to hatta the fishing community.
